Homescreen newest customer for ODmedia’s ‘one stop shop’

PRESS RELEASE

Homescreen/Cinemien has decided to outsource the entire technical and facilitory support for its video catalogue to ODmedia. The deal includes digitizing, archiving, DVD/Blu-ray authoring, transcoding and distribution of all content of the Amsterdam-based distributor.

ODmedia has been working together with Homescreen/Cinemien for a number of years. Amongst others, it has developed and operates its online video-on-demand portal Cinemalink.tv, which was launced in 2008.

CEO Sjef Pijnenburg: “Homescreen/Cinemien is an important player in the market with between 70 and 90 new releases each year. For companies such as them, the benefit is that we run all our operations in-house. Our organization and infrastructure are set up in a way that from a single master file, we can deliver to every channel.

“We run DVD/Blu-ray productions for the physical market and can supply all imaginable digital channels, such as broadcast, IPTV, OTT, STB, connected TVs and online. And with our multiscreen offering we can deliver video to tablets and mobile phones as well.”

“The advantage of this ‘one stop shop’ proposition to our customers is that the complete management of their video lifecycle becomes easier to control, faster and more efficient and, most of all, cheaper. We notice that with the proliferation of channels that is currently going on, those aspects are becoming ever more appealing to content owners.”

In October, ODmedia announced a similar deal with [PIAS] Comedy.
